BAY

(Laurus nobilis)

This herb, also known as Laurel, is an evergreen tree. The flowers are small and yellow and the leaves are oval and dark green. Bay also gets dark purple, or black berries. It can grow up to 50 feet tall, but it seldom grows taller then 20 feet. Plant bay in rich, well-drained soil in a sunny location. Bay does better if you grow them indoors, since they do not survive cold winters. Harvest the leaves as needed.

Take internally (leaf infusion, tincture) for poor appetite and indigestion.

Apply externally as a hair rinse for dandruff
