CAYENNE

(Capsicum frutescens)

Cayenne, also called Capsicum, Hot Pepper, and Red Pepper, looks like a typical pepper plant. It's a perennial herb and can grow up to six feet.

Taken internally (powder, capsules, tincture) cayenne is good for your heart, kidneys, lungs, stomach, arthritis, poor circulation and poor appetite. Cayenne also stimulates your body heat, and it may improve digestion.

By taking 3 capsules twice daily, cayenne can help slow down the balding process by increasing circulation to the scalp. Apply externally (cream) for psoriasis, shingles, toothaches, to soothe stiffness and pain of rheumatism, and to stop bleedings.

There are many ways to enjoy cayenne. Add it to meat sauces, fish, vegetable dishes and soup. Since Cayenne is a very hot pepper you might want to let it simmer for a while before you blend it with other flavors. Part used:

Fruits.

Don't use if you have gastrointestinal problems, or if you are prone to over-heating or acidity of the stomach. Cayenne is also irritating to the eyes and to tender skin.
